Engineering Intern

During my internship at Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd, I was fortunate to work closely with the engineering and operations management teams, which gave me valuable insights into the manufacturing processes and operations of a leading pharmaceutical company.

One of the key takeaways from my internship was the importance of engineering in the pharmaceutical industry. The engineering department was responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining the sophisticated systems that controlled the environment and regulated the manufacturing processes to ensure that the products met the highest quality standards. I was impressed by the engineering team's attention to detail and their commitment to maintaining a safe and controlled environment throughout the plant.

In addition, I was able to learn about the operation management and control aspects of the manufacturing process. The plant's operations were tightly controlled to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize the risk of errors or contamination. I observed how the operations management team used various tools and techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to optimize the processes and improve productivity.

Overall, my internship at Ibn Sina Pharma was a unique opportunity to learn about the critical role that engineering and operations management play in the pharmaceutical industry. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the complexity and rigor involved in producing high-quality pharmaceutical products and provided me with valuable skills and knowledge that will serve me well in my future career.

The Challenges

01

Smooth Operation

Engineers in the pharmaceutical industry face the challenge of ensuring smooth operation by maintaining efficient processes, optimizing production schedules, and minimizing downtime to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

02

Ensuring Reliability

The complex and sophisticated equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing requires regular maintenance and calibration to ensure that it operates within the required specifications, which is a challenge for engineers to ensure the reliability of equipment.

03

Environmental Control

The pharmaceutical manufacturing process is highly sensitive to environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and air quality, which must be carefully controlled to ensure the quality of the products. Engineers must design, install, and maintain sophisticated systems to regulate the environmental conditions throughout the plant.
